The largest agricultural 6-day fair in New York State, 2021 marked its 175th year. Long ago, back before 1919, it was held down in Washington Hollow, where the Troop K barrack are now located off Rt.44. Tracy Dows (of the Foxhollow Farm Estate and former partner in the ownership of the Beekman Arms) helped get it moved to Rhinebeck. I have not collected much on the fair. Hopefully others can contribute to this placeholder page. My most vivid memories from childhood are the all-electric house of the future (wow back then), the huge pieces of farm equipment on display, and of course, the ever popular Hitler staff car. The pigs, sheep, goats, horses, and cows were also pretty cool.
