There were quite a number of camps and summer cottages populating (mainly) the eastern part of town. I will endeavor to seek out where they were and update this section later in this project. Any help would be appreciated!

Staley's Cottages c1920s

This is up on the right side (going north) of Mt. Rutsen Rd. It’s former glory days are now long gone.

Cox's Shady Lake

Shady Lake is Long Pond (aka, the lake the Omega Institute is on, out off of Fiddler’s Bridge Rd.) Old Rhinebeck Gazette articles confirm this location. It was hard to find. No maps, even going back to the late 1800’s, mention a Shady Lake or Cox, or the Shady Lake Farm. All the cards & advertisements (a lot found in Brooklyn,  NY papers) just say Rhinebeck as an address, never a specific street. Another issue is the cards below (and the RHS has a few more cards) aren’t helpful in determining the exact location. It was not on the main Omega site (which was once Camp Boiberik).

Another Cottage on Long Pond

Camp Ramapo still exists, serving kids affected by social, emotional, or learning challenges. It is on the southern end of Sepasco Lake.

I suspect Interlake Farm is now the site of Interlake RV Park, off Lake Road/Slate Quarry. The once attractive lake is now totally choked over with vegetation.

Marquet’s cottage/guest house I’m told was located on the western side of Cedar Heights Rd (out off of 308).

Below, Maple Glen Cottage, 1914, I’m told this was in Rock City on Brooklyn Heights Rd.

Below, Stanbrook Ranch, I believe this may have been on Silver Lake.

I’m told Pink’s Pond was that small pond just north of Silver Lake.
